What are antioxidants?
Well-known antioxidants such as vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin E inhibit
oxidation or reactions promoted by oxygen and peroxides protecting the
body from the effects of free radicals. Vitamin E and A, both major
antioxidants known as healing agents. Vitamin E as an antioxidant protects
body cells from the damaging effects of oxidation.
What this means is that antioxidants,
fight off toxic forms of oxygen. These destructive elements have been
linked to chronic skin diseases, as well as to aging itself. Oxygen
“free radicals,” which can attack DNA, can also cause DNA
to mutate; this mutation is often a starting point for cancer.
The exciting news is that
you can play a big part in fighting off the ravages of these unhealthy
toxins! Load up on high antioxidant foods, using antioxidant oils on
your skin can significantly lower the effects of these free radicals.
By supplying your cells with antioxidant food compounds and applying
antioxidant oils to your skin, you can stop the progress of unhealthy
oxygen molecules and even repair some of their damage.
You can make a difference.
